Policies, Processes & Procedures:
Report to the Housekeeping Department at 08.00 in uniform and punch in.
Pick up and sign in keys and section daily housekeeping report for cleaning assignment. Note any special instructions.
Remove assigned cart from floor pantry and begin cleaning assignment, special guest requests, checked outs and early make up rooms should be cleaned first.
Procedure of entering guest rooms- If there is no D.N.D sign and if the double lock is not on, Press the buzzer and announce yourself Housekeeping, wait for thirty seconds, follow same as three times and open slowly if there is no response from the room and enter. Keep the cart across the guest room and hang the Housekeeper in the room Sign.
Turn all lights, bring supplies in room and do not enter room empty handed.
Check condition of the room (missing / damaged/ lost and found)
Open all drapes, Roman blind, sheer curtain and windows to air out the room.
Remove the trash, empty ashtrays, collect dirty glasses/tumbler
Strip the bed and collect all soiled linen, towels and wrap it and place in soil linen bag on the cart.
Proceed to make the bed.
Dust the guest room as per procedure and polish the doors and brass items.
Replenish bedroom supplies.
Spray R2 bathroom cleaner in the stand shower, the bathtub, toilet bowl and bath room wall.
Wash and clean marble vanity top, washbasin, wash dry set up, then ashtrays, hair dryer, weighing scale and ice bucket. Clean the mini bar fridge and shelves and bathroom telephone.
Tidy up the marble vanity top and arrange guest items in a towel.
Clean all bath room mirrors with R3 glass cleaner and weaving cloth
Clean the stand shower, bathtub, bathroom wall, toilet bowl, and wipe it dry with rugs.
Wipe the bathroom floor with R2 multi purpose cleaner.
Replenish bathroom supplies and amenities.
Adjust the A/C button (check out room).
Vacuum the carpet, window railings, and bathroom.
Spray air freshener, take a final glance and turn off lights.
Secure door lock and update the room cleaning report.
Report to the Supervisor any assigned rooms that do not require service or that display D.N.D signs.
Check the rooms and write the final room status in the report.
Arrange and fill the room steward cart for next day job.
Notify Floor Supervisor if there is any thing wrong with housekeeping cart, vacuum cleaner, and other equipment.
Return keys to the housekeeping office at 17.00 hrs and punch out.
